Venus Retrograde in Scorpio and Libra 2026: What It Means

Venus stations retrograde at 8°29′ Scorpio on October 3, 2026, and turns direct at 22°52′ Libra on November 13, 2026. Between those two stations she walks the same ground twice. The first station is in Scorpio. On October 25 she passes back into Libra, still retrograde, and the direct station falls in that sign. The season is one story told in two weathers.

A retrograde station is the moment a planet's apparent motion stalls and turns back along the zodiac. Nothing in the sky reverses its orbit. From Earth, the planet seems to pause, then retrace degrees it has already crossed. Traditional astrology treats that retracing as review. The topics of the planet come back for a second look, with less appetite for a brand-new performance.

Venus is the lesser benefic. She governs affection, beauty, alliance, pleasure, and the sense of what is enough. In a birth chart she describes how a person joins, adorns, and assigns worth. In the shared sky, a Venus retrograde is a season for those same topics: agreements of the heart, taste, and the quiet question of what one is still willing to give. It is a season for study and for a slower yes. It is not a verdict on anyone's marriage, income, or future.

She stations in Scorpio. Scorpio is fixed water, traditionally ruled by Mars. Venus is in detriment there. Detriment is the sign opposite a planet's own domicile, a poor fit between her usual style and the sign's weather. Scorpio's weather is retentive, private, and unwilling to leave a half-truth standing. Venus in that room asks for candor about desire, loyalty, and shared resources. Charm has a harder time covering a preference. The degree of the station is 8°29′ Scorpio. A station degree is a place the sky keeps returning to in the weeks around the turn. People with natal planets near that degree often feel the season more personally. The feeling is a prompt for attention, not a scheduled event.

From that degree she moves backward through the early part of Scorpio and, on October 25, 2026, crosses into Libra. Libra is cardinal air, and it is one of Venus's own signs. Domicile is the dignity of being at home. The style of the planet and the style of the sign agree: pairing, proportion, and the art of the other person in the room. The retrograde does not end at the ingress. She keeps moving backward through Libra until the direct station.

She turns direct at 22°52′ Libra on November 13, 2026. Direct motion is the release of the review. The planet takes up forward motion again, and the degrees she retraced can be lived in ordinary time. Because this direct station is in her domicile, the classical picture is of Venus recovering her own manners after a stay in detriment. That is a description of dignity, not a promise that a relationship repairs itself or that a postponed pleasure arrives on that date.

A useful way to keep the season is to name one Venus topic and give it the length of the retrograde, from October 3 through November 13. Affection, beauty, a debt of taste, a bargain that was too quick, a standard of enough. Write the preference without an audience. Read it again near the direct station and keep only what is still true. The Full Moon in Taurus on October 26 falls inside this window, with the Moon in the other sign Venus rules, while Venus herself is retrograde in late Libra.

Fixed water and cardinal air ask for different crafts. Scorpio holds. Libra arranges. A retrograde that begins in one and ends in the other moves from a private audit toward a visible balance. Neither sign requires a public announcement. The work can stay on a page.

Pythic Cosmos reads this as sky weather for study and contemplation. The dates and degrees above are tropical positions for the stations and the Libra ingress. What a person does with the season remains their own.
